Why It is Important to You to Learn English Nowadays, language becomes one of necessity for people in the life as a human being. At the moment, people only mastered their native language or their traditional language from their culture, but now a person could master more than one language for communication purpose. As we know that, every people need to do communication with another people as a need of social human being. However, there are so many languages in the world. To do communication with another people in the world which have different language, we don’t need to master all of their language. Because there is one language which is dealing as an international language namely English. Studying English is important because of some reasons. First of all, because English is an International language, it can help us to face globalization effect which is happening in the world. When you live in a globalization era, you need to master English as international language. For example, as a student, we need some books as a resource of learning. Most of book in the world is written in English. So, mastering English can make us easy to understand the book. Besides that, probably some of students want to make a relationship with another student in abroad. We can imagine how difficult it is if we don’t understand English well. That’s why language especially English as an international language is needed for people to face globalization in the world. The second, studying English is important for us because we are students of English Department. Students of English Department are demanded to do communication in English as much as possible. For instance, most of subject in English Department are parts of English itself, and when the teacher teach us, they’ll use English and then we have to give response in English too such as in Mr. Khusnun’s class, we speak in English and also writing in English. If we don’t use English we will failed the subject. Because the end purpose of a student of English department is could master English. Finally as a student of English department we have to master English to graduate our education. The third is English make profit for us in getting job easily. After graduate from undergraduate level, we will try to find out a job to make dough. Unfortunately, because of globalization effect, most of company needs an employee which has ability in English skill. For example, to be a civil servant in our country, Indonesia, we have to pass TOEFL test. Besides that, when we want to apply for a job and doing some interview, we will be asked whether we could understand English or not. So, studying English give us a profit in getting job in the future. Studying English is a big deal for us as students of English department. Besides, English can help us in face globalization era where we could make a relationship with another people in abroad and one important thing is English also can help us to get job easily.
